Welcome to the Virtual Learning Centre

Student Success is our shared mission.

Welcome to the Trillium Lakelands District School Board's Virtual Learning Centre. The Virtual Learning Centre has been offering Ontario Secondary School students a wide range of flexible, and well designed high school courses since 1997.

The VLC offers students a full range of learning opportunities powered by the latest online technologies available. A partner with the Ministry of Education and eLearning Ontario, our aim is to provide a full range of courses available to students anywhere.

All of our courses are taught by highly qualified Ontario teachers who understand how to blend the power of synchronous, streamed communication with the flexibility of static, anywhere-anytime course content. Students succeed in our program and our attrition rates (under 20%) demonstrate that our program works for most learners.

We are committed to setting very high standards for distance learning and know that the student-teacher interaction is key to student success. For this reason, we encourage all of our students to attend web meetings, and to adhere to the course schedule and all due dates. This level of rigor builds a strong work ethic and forges a classroom and school community thereby preparing our students for post-secondary studies.
