I am pleased to announce that our specialist high skills major program has been approved. Any student entering grade 11 is eligible to apply for this unique opportunity to align your schooling with a potential career.

Specialist High Skills Majors let students focus on a career path that matches their skills and interests. Each major is a bundle of 8-10 courses in a selected field.

Students have the opportunity to:
Gain important skills on the job with actual employers, at skills training centres and at school
Earn valuable industry certifications, including first aid and CPR qualifications.

The VLC is the only online school in Ontario who has been approved by the Ministry to offer a specialist high skill major online! We have industry partners at Microsoft and Adobe to support work placements and training and to provide certifications. We also have a school board partner (Kawartha Pineridge DSB) in Peterborough who will be working with us on this unique project.
